Kafirs Plot Terror, Scapegoat Blameless Muslims: MPAC Report

For every Major Dr. Hasan of Fort Hood shoot-'em-up fame, there are scads more Tim McVeighs. Or so claims an "unbiased" report, the details of which are revealed in this Arab News report:

WASHINGTON: A new report on violent extremists in the United States finds that terrorism plots by non-Muslims greatly outnumber those attempted by Muslims, and that Muslim-American communities helped foil close to a third of Al-Qaeda-related terror plots threatening the country since Sep. 11, 2001. The Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC), a not-for-profit organization advocating for the civil rights of American Muslims, commissioned the report.

Reportedly the first of its kind by a Muslim-American organization, the database tracks plots by Muslim and non-Muslim violent extremists in the United States.

One of the aims of the report, said the organizers, was to encourage the Muslim-American community to become part of the solution of the problem, as several recent unsuccessful terrorist plots has contributed to heightened public anxiety – and the search for scapegoats.

The successful interception of two parcel bombs shipped as cargo from Yemen this month further raised the public’s level of apprehension that another terrorist attack was in the making.

The backlash, or reaction to recent thwarted attacks against Americans has resulted in Muslims experiencing renewed discrimination in the workplace...

Here's some info about that not-for-profit organization advocating for the civil rights of Muslims and how it has been pushing the fatuous Jews-Christians-Hindus-are-terrorists-too line for quite some time:

MPAC claims that Islam is a religion of peace and moderation, and contends that Muslim extremists are no more numerous or dangerous than fundamentalists in any other faith. “There are radical Christian, Jewish and Hindu movements, too,” says MPAC, “which are also capable of slaughtering innocents.” On occasion, MPAC has publicly condemned Islamic suicide bombings. These condemnations, however, are invariably accompanied by endorsements of Muslim “resistance” and “armed struggle” which MPAC frames as justified retribution against prior Israeli or Western transgressions.

BTW, just as it isn't a "phobia" (i.e. a groundless, irrational fear, an overheated figment of the imagination) if there is something that's genuinely worrisome (i.e. the jihad impertative and how it is playing out in our time), it can't be "scapegoating" (i.e. singling out one group and blaming it for actions for which it bears no responsibility) if members of that groups are indeed waging jihad/plotting terror.
