Avneri's Daft "Two State" Solution

Writing in Arab News, anti-Zionist Israeli Uri Avnery (they love him over at CASMO) says

After the 1948 war, Jews should have created a state for Palestinians

That's the nuttiest thing I've read in a while. The Jews should have created a state for the Arabs? How would that have worked exactly when the combined might of neigbouring Arab countries were doing their level best to, well, level Israel? The Jews sort of had their hands full with sheer survival, and creating their own state. State-building for their genocidal enemies simply wasn't a possibility back then--or ever.
