My favorite example of Leftist cognitive dissonance is the embracing of the most extreme demands of radical homosexuals and radical Moslems at the same time: just thinking casually about the paradox makes my head hurt! (On an old sci-fi tv show, the electronic brain would be going, "That does not compute!" non-stop, trying to reconcile the contradiction.)
