Haiku and "Holistic." How Berserkely Can You Get?

Found this unintentional hilarity on the TDSB site:
A group from Equinox Holistic Alternative School had a late night on September 29 as they took part in Nuit Blanche, the city-wide festival featuring Toronto's most creative and exciting artists. Not many elementary schools have ever been invited to participate in this showcase event, but Equinox’s unique art/poetry project caught the eye of submission reviewers. Teachers Michael Jursic and Peri Aggarwal and their students at Equinox were thrilled to be one of the approximately 150 projects selected.
The "QR Poetry Project" involves the integration of Language Arts and Visual Arts by encoding a haiku on the theme of "night" in a Quick Response (QR) code. A QR code is a kind of bar code and mobile marketing tool that can provide much more information about an item. The students hand-painted their custom codes onto canvases.
Jursic has been teaching at the TDSB for more than 13 years and is known for the ambitious scale of his art projects. He believes that students learn best by doing, and is also a strong proponent of leaving them with something that they can take away and show off. The inspiration for this project was literally off the wall...
No kidding. From the sounds of it, so is this eco-obsessed, "social justice"-fixated school.
