I Can See It Now--The Mark Steyn Hockey Stick Throw-Down Event in Toronto

How's this for a fantabulous idea--a fundraiser for Mark Steyn's court battle against hockey stick graphologist Michael Mann right here in Hogtown?

Mark could speak at some length about what's at stake in the fight, maybe perform a song or two about it (I'd be willing to write the lyrics to a song parody--say, to Stompin Tom's "The Good Old Hockey Game"), and his many, many fans in this town could pony up whatever they can to help defray his immense legal fees.

As a bonus, he could show up in a Maple Leafs hockey jersey--a surefire way to endear himself to the locals.

I suggest he wear #19, Dave Keon's number. In 1967, Keon won the Conn Smyth Trophy, and it was the last time the Leafs won the Stanley Cup. (Here's hoping Steyn has more success with his hockey travails than the hapless Leafs have had since that time.)

Maybe he could also give away souvenir toy hockey sticks -- straight ones.
