This Exercise In a Morally Relative Remembrance Day Is Brought To You By the Hard Leftist Ceeb (and Kumba-Frikkin'-Ya To It for That)

I had always thought that November 11th, Remembrance Day, was set aside to acknowledge those who lost their lives in the service of this country for the cause of freedom.

But, hey, that's just me.

According to a segment I listened to (stunned, with mouth agape) on CBC radio earlier today, Remembrance Day is our way of saying phooey to war--all war--so that we never have to fight anywhere any more.

That being so, it is like, soooo unfair to laud our military for its victories because, for example, it could make Germans and others "feel bad."

The way to ameliorate these bad feelings, claims the Ceeb interviewee, is by holding an alternative service on the 11th "for people who don't feel welcome at Remembrance Day." These ceremonies, which make no mention of there being winners and losers--no Allies and Nazis--are ideal for, say, those who feel bad about their German heritage vis-à-vis WWII.

To which I say this: we won; the Nazis lost; tough toenails if that makes anyone feel crappy.
Lest we forget--the Ceeb is horrendous!
